Women’s Guild News – March 2014

Bake Sale: Thanks to all who donated baked goods for the bake sale. Everyone says that the goodies were extraordinarily scrumptious. And a special thanks to all who purchased them. Your support and generosity are much appreciated. Proceeds totaling $302.00 were donated to the furnace fund.
Lunch: Plan on attending another great Lenten lunch on Wednesday, April 2nd by the Women’s Guild. They are not quite sure what the menu will be, but for sure the meal won’t disappoint you (because it never does). Their fantastic deserts will also be there. Lunch will be served immediately following the 11:00 service. Come attend the Lenten Service and then enjoy that meal.
Woman of the Year: On Tuesday, March 18, members of Angelica and others will be attending a luncheon at the Sterling Inn in Sterling Heights. Betty Nixdorf will be honored, along with the honorees from other churches, as Women of the Year. This is the 50th anniversary of the LWML council. Entertainment will be provided by the Joybell Lady, Kristine Stout, who is a solo bell ringer from Clinton Township. The price of the lunch is $24.00, a portion of which be used for the council’s scholarship program for the support of future pastors and deaconesses. If you have any questions, please contact Lorraine Rupp.
Church Lighting: The Women’s Guild, along with several other church organizations, is pleased to have made a monetary donation toward the cost of the new lighting in the sanctuary. The lights provide more light and are more energy efficient. Thank you, David Hufford and Everett Burt and all who pitched in to install them.
Church Supplies: The Women’s Guild made a donation for the purchase of general supplies needed to serve the lunches, such as paper plates, napkins, cups, etc.
