Mark your calendar: The next meeting of the Women’s Guild will be on Wednesday, October 2 at 1:00. All are welcome. Dessert and coffee are served at every meeting (last month’s pies were fantastic – might see some just like them at the Octoberfest). At their meetings they are always looking for new ideas and helpers.

Rada knives will again be sold at the craft show on October 12. As Christmas is less than two months away, it’s a good time to start thinking about Christmas gifts. Rada knives are excellent choices. As anyone that owns them can tell you, they are very good knives at very low prices. So, stop by and purchase a few for yourself or as truly handy Christmas gifts.

On Saturday, October 5 members of the Women’s Guild and any other women that are interested in attending will be at Shepherd King Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield for their Fall Rally. Kay Wolff will be speaking on “The Rosa Young Movie”. Tickets are $10.00 which includes a light lunch. Attendees are asked to bring an item from the following list: 8 oz. hot/cold cups, dessert plates, gallon size zip lock bags, dish soap, napkins, or plastic forks. The items will be used to restock the food pantry at St. Paul Community Lutheran Church in Pontiac. Contact Lorraine Rupp at (313) 386 – 2510 if you are interested in attending. The deadline for reservations is Sunday, September 29.

LWML Sunday – Sunday, October 13 has been designated as LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League) Sunday at Angelica. All are asked to wear something purple in support of LWML. Donations made through the Mite boxes are used to support the missions of LWML. If you would like a Mite box they are located at the back of the church or can be obtained by asking any Women’s Guild member or church elder. Mite boxes can be turned in at any time to any Women’s Guild member or elder. The Women’s Guild and LWML are thankful for all donations.

Reserve the Date: Sunday, November 24th will be the date for Advent by Candlelight – The Women’s Guild will assist the Altar Guild in hosting Advent by Candlelight. Please talk with any member of the Women’s Guild or the Altar Guild if you can help in any way.

Advent service lunch –The Women’s Guild will serve lunch on Wednesday, December 3 after the 11:00 a.m. Advent Service. They welcome your suggestions for the menu and your attendance.

Reserve the date: The Women’s Guild has tentatively planned to hold their Christmas Party on Tuesday, December 10th at the Holiday Inn in Southgate. All women of the church are invited to attend, enjoy the lunch and some fellowship. More information will be included in the next newsletter.

And, as the Women’s Guild likes to plan ahead, they are looking into one of their favorite Christmas projects. The Women’s Guild will sell See’s Candies and those every handy Rada knives. Both make great Christmas gifts. See’s candies are priced very reasonable and they are scrumptious. (Looking forward to enjoying the candy – one of my favorite things to do at Christmas.) Don’t forget, Rada knives are inexpensive knives whose quality is excellent.

As you can see from above, the Women’s Guild will have a very active fall. They look forward to your participation in their activities and would greatly like to see you at their next meeting on Wednesday, October 2 at 1:00. Everyone is welcome.
