It’s been a great month for Angelica’s Women’s Guild, and there’s more to come. The best thing about it is that it’s all fun.

The Guild has donated funds to partially cover the cost of the Portals of Prayer that so many of us enjoy reading. If you haven’t had a chance to read the daily devotions, as the saying goes, “Try it, you’ll like it”. But, if you haven’t gotten a copy of the booklet yet please pick up one at the back of the church.

A big thank you to all wore purple to support the LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League) on Sunday, October 13. And thanks also to all who have already turned in their filled mite boxes. If you didn’t get one of the boxes yet you can find them at the back of the church. The process is quite easy; pick one up, fill it with your loose change, turn it in to an Usher or Elder (and then repeat the process). Funds collected are used for worthwhile missions, many of which are under-served and which normally receive very little publicity.

If you haven’t noticed, the Women’s Guild is selling See’s Candies. See’s Candies are fantastic and always seem to taste better than other Christmas candies. This is a great opportunity for you and your friends and family to experience them for yourselves. They are priced so reasonably that you really can’t buy them for less elsewhere. Order forms are available in the lounge after each church service through November 17. The candy will be ready for pick up on Sunday, December 8.

Rada Knives! And here we are again with the Rada knives, too. But they really are exceptional so it’s just natural to bring them to your attention again, for your use and as gifts. They are of very good quality; they come in a wide variety of specialty use knives, you don’t have to buy them in sets, many types are in stock for your inspection and immediate purchase. And they are reasonably priced. They really do make great gifts. Stop in the lounge after each Sunday service to inspect and purchase them.

Set aside Tuesday, December 3. The Women’s Guild will be meeting at the Holiday Inn at 12:30 p.m. in Southgate for their annual Christmas luncheon. All are welcome to attend. The Women’s Guild is asking that those wishing to attend to sign-up on the sheet in the narthex. If you have any questions, please call Lorraine Rupp.

Following the 11:00 a.m. Advent service on December 4, the Women’s Guild will be hosting the Advent luncheon in the parish hall. The main course hasn’t been picked yet but our world famous desserts will definitely be there. This process is easy too; come to the 11:00 a.m. Advent Service, stay for lunch. That’s it. The Women’s Guild is looking forward to seeing you there.

The Women’s Guild is also looking forward to seeing you at their next, regular meeting which will be held on Wednesday, November 6 at 1:00 p.m. in the lounge. Come and learn what special things they are planning for future months. Desserts at the meetings are always fantastic and the women that attend are fun to be with and to talk to. Hope to see you there.
